Formed in 1969, the Danelaw Country Dance Band had the same line-up for the first 21 years. Robert on first accordion teamed up with brother Jon on drums, Alan Coulson on second accordion, Joseph Hornsby on fiddle and Alan Brown on piano. The present line-up, together for the last twelve years,  includes son Graeme on second accordion, Roddy Matthews on fiddle and Dave Ashbridge on drums.  Playing for Scottish Country Dancing, Old Time Dances, Ceilidhs and Accordion clubs throughout the British Isles and Europe.  Recent countries visited include USA, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Cyprus and Portugal and everywhere in the British Isles from the South Coast to Shetland and from their native Northumberland to the accordion clubs of Northern Ireland.

Although specialising in Scottish Country Music the band is equally at home with all types of music for all types of events. Barn Dances, Weddings, Social Evenings, Birthdays, Highland Dance Clubs, Festivals and all sorts of functions are catered for. Distance is no problem to the Danelaw Band neither is the size of the function as fees will always fit your budget. The band will provide a professional 'Caller' for ceilidh dancing so if you're an expert or a total novice you'll have a great time!!
